MacArthur High School, established in 1951, has a population of approximately
2,600 students that is ethnically diverse. Between 1999 and 2002, our
campus experienced an entire facelift. Even though we are the oldest
NEISD high school, every major building is new. MacArthur students are active in a large variety of extracurricular activities while continuing to strive for excellence in academics.
MacArthur High School houses the Electrical Systems Technology Program for students in ninth through twelfth grade who are interested in the electrical industry. The program has been established as an Apprenticeship Program in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Students will have an opportunity to earn apprenticeship hours while they are in high school.
Over the years, MacArthur has had numerous National Merit scholars.
