Requesting a Transcript
You need an official transcript to enroll in colleges or technical schools, for some employers, or to enlist in the military. Your transcript is the official document of your school attendance, grades earned, and graduation. NEISD can only provide a transcript for proof of graduation. WE DO NOT HAVE, NOR DO WE CREATE, COPIES OF YOUR DIPLOMA.
HOW DO I REQUEST A TRANSCRIPT?
If you are no longer enrolled in NEISD you may request a transcript in person or by US mail. We are unable to accept faxes because payment is not included. Students currently enrolled in NEISD must request their transcript from their home campus. Additional forms may be required at the campus.
Students graduating before 1992 must request transcripts through the District Guidance Office. Students who graduated in 1992 and thereafter may request their transcripts at their home campus. An official transcript is not given directly to students or their family members.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO REQUEST A TRANSCRIPT?
The following information is required:
HOW MUCH WILL A TRANSCRIPT COST?
A copy provided of an official or unofficial transcript for students no longer enrolled in NEISD is $5.00 per copy. Requests are processed upon receipt of the $5.00 fee.
Any requests with missing documents or no payment will be void after 30 days. NO REFUNDS are given for requests with missing documents or missing information.
Students currently enrolled in NEISD schools receive one transcript free from the campus, and requests thereafter are $5.00 each. Transcripts for scholarship applications are free.
If transcripts are requested to be shipped by Fed Ex, there will be an additional charge. This fee will be paid by the student, or person requesting the transcript.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PROCESS A TRANSCRIPT REQUEST?
Transcript requests are processed within 3 business days of receipt. When possible, official transcripts to state-funded post-secondary institutions are transmitted electronically. NEISD can confirm the date records were sent, but not the date of arrival.
WHAT IS GRADUATION VERIFICATION?
Verification companies or prospective employers must request graduation verifications in writing. Graduation verification will not be given over the phone. In order to process graduation verifications, a signed release form (including the student name while enrolled in NEISD, his/her DOB, last NEISD school attended, and date of graduation) is required. Without this information, the request will not be processed. Due to the large volume of transcript requests, NEISD cannot verify receipt of a faxed request until after three business days of the fax. Graduation verifications requested by verification companies or prospective employers are free.
