Family, Career, and Community Leaers of America MacArthur High School
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America

FCCLA at the Brahma March, October, 2005FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. The student leadership organization is active on the local, state, and national level and has thousands of members across America.

At MacArthur, we have three chapters. Mrs. Gust, Ms. Rushing, and Ms. Noble each sponsor a chapter which meets during our class periods. The chapters perform community service, school service, and fundraise, to support our community and school service projects.

Mrs Gust's chapter, Brahma I, is walking to Oak Grove, Regency, and MacArthur Park Lutheran Schools to mentor students there by teaching the 6 pillars of character education and creating a pop-up book with our buddies. Later this year, Mrs Gust, Mrs. Noble, and Mrs Rushing will take members to the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo to guide elementary student tours. Other projects for community and school service have included valentine cards for the elderly and pumpkins decorated for tables in an elder care facility.School projects have included all the wooden hall passes for the school, planting a garden, and decorating the teachers' lunch room.
