The Task block in a WebQuest is a description of what the learner will have done at the end of the activity. It could be a product, like a powerpoint presentation, or it might be a written report complete with graphics, it also could be a verbal report with visuals. Students could even act out or write a play from the information.

 

Examples of Types of Vehicles for Tasks:

• scenarios.. can you come up with a solution
• contemporary world problems... challenged to debate
• historic conflicts or difficulties...creating eyewitness accounts
• product creation.. a painting...a presentation
• an actual life experience..buying a car... traveling
• using the imagination...take a trip, journey to the center of the earth

The most important aspect of the webquest is creating the questions.. the"burning questions". If a quest is short, then students search for facts...for a longer quest, the student has to answer questions and analyze the information. This analysis of information causes the student to take a chance and make assumptions.
