In this section, the teacher guides the student through their task. This part of the process if fairly structured. Some teachers use a numbered step by step guide, or other teachers will establish guidelines for the task complete with deadlines. Roles are assigned for the task and the student is given some idea of expectations for the final outcome of the process.

• Step-by-step guides.. sometimes numbered
• Time management suggestions
• Roll assignment and methods for collecting information
• Deadlines for parts of the project and timelines
• Directions for presenting final product or outcome
• Group strategies
• Description of roles to be played
• Brainstorming ideas and techniques
• Ideas on how to divide tasks into smaller parts

This part of the quest should be short and concise. This will help aid the student to focus in on the task at hand and not have a lot of "down time" trying to figure out what needs to be done.
