Dear Robert E. Lee Parents / Guardians,
Another exciting week of school! Greenback Night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2013 beginning in the auditorium; please make arrangements to attend. We hope you are able to join PTSA and that you will consider signing up to become a volunteer on campus. As mentioned in previous letters and assemblies, regardless of whether your students try to discourage you from being involved, please do the opposite and continue to play an integral part in your child’s life. After all, we want what you want to guide, support and prepare your child to be a global citizen; ready for college or career. They will become our future leaders.
This month we invite all parents and students to attend our Annual College Readiness Night on September 24, 2013 at 6:30 pm in the Robert E. Lee Auditorium. The evening will provide parents and students with information about different college readiness programs offered at Lee High School. This will include a general session that will provide information about the importance of the upcoming Pre-Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) and the National Merit Scholarship Program ®. The general session will also include information about how students can earn college credit through the variety of dual credit classes offered at Lee. Following the general session, we will offer three break-out sessions where you can get more information about the Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP)/Advanced Placement (AP) programs at Lee. You can choose from the following areas: English Pre-AP and AP, Math Pre-AP and AP, Social Studies Pre-AP and AP, Science Pre-AP, and Foreign Language. An additional session we are offering this year is about the Kaplan on-line course that is available to all Lee High School students. In this session you can get more information about the course as well as how to complete the registration process. At the end of the night, we will hold a session for all Gifted and Talented students, parents, and teachers in the auditorium.
Please remind and encourage your son and daughter the importance of regular and prompt attendance, proper dress, cafeteria expectations, behavior on buses and the importance of not participating in any type of hazing.
