Beginning May 13th, students with a negative account balance won’t be permitted to charge meals. Please cover all of your child’s negative balances. Any negative balances not taken care of by the last day of school are required to be covered from the school budget. This takes funding away from programs offered to our students.

The Las Lomas Honor Choir was invited by State Rep. Lyle Larson to perform at the Texas State Capitol on Tuesday, May 21.
The 48 fourth and fifth grade students performed for 30 minutes in the rotunda for an audience filled with state lawmakers. Students sang patriotic songs like Texas, Our Texas and God Bless America as well as Leader in Me songs like You Can Have It All. The program ended with the Las Lomas School Song. It was thrilling to hear our Lion ROAR's echoing in the rotunda!
As a Leader In Me school, Las Lomas empowers student leadership. The Honor Choir's performance was led by 36 student directors, choreography leaders, soloists and narrators.
Following a guided tour of the Capitol, the Honor Choir visited the House of Representatives. Led by Rep. Larson, the House lawmakers paused their business, asked the Honor Choir to stand, and recognized the students with applause.
This momentous trip would not have been possible without the support of our amazing Las Lomas Honor Choir parents and the generosity of the Las Lomas PTA! This performance was the highlight of a very exciting opening year at Las Lomas. The Las Lomas Honor Choir performed by invitation at the JW Marriott Resort Holiday Lighting Ceremony and opened The Leader In Me Symposium.
We were honored to represent our new campus and our school district at the Capitol!

Summer is coming and we know our Lions will have fantastic memory-making opportunities! We can’t wait to learn more about how our lion families Sharpened the Saw over the summer.
Please collect a favorite artifact from your adventure whether they are near or far. Some ideas include a postcard or a family picture. We ask that a short description accompanies the artifact. We would like to display these on a bulletin board. You can drop these off at the office beginning August 5th to be displayed on “Meet the Teacher Night” or bring them to “Meet the Teacher Night” on August 22nd and we will display them for the 1st day of school.
