Las Lomas Celebrates Dot Day!

Dot Day
Wear dots on Monday, September 15th, in honor of Dot Day!
Every year on September 15th, innovative educators around the world observe International Dot Day, a celebration of creativity and inspiration based on the popular book The Dot, by author Peter H. Reynolds. Just as the teacher in the book encouraged a student to trust in her ownabilities by being brave enough to “make her mark” (and the student did, starting with a single dot on a page), participants in Dot Day are also encouraged to make their own marks and stretch their curiosity and imagination. This event is a great way to remind us all that the arts aren't extras in education, but are necessary for helping students to be creative, problem-solving people.
