MAJORSLaura Majors, a third-grade teacher at Las Lomas Elementary School, is the recipient of the “Driving Education to the Top” award from Alamo Toyota and Kidsville News. Majors received the award on the Las Lomas TV campus news program on the morning of May 12. She received a check for $1,000, a plaque, and she and her students are invited to a field trip to Natural Bridge Wild Life Ranch and Alamo Toyota on May 24.

Majors was nominated by parents and her Las Lomas family who have witnessed daily how passionate she is about teaching.

"We really want to thank Alamo Toyota for awarding Mrs. Majors with this wonderful award," said Alan Rochkus, Las Lomas Principal. "We know how special she is, and now the whole city knows how special she is too.”

For the fourth year, Alamo Toyota rewards an educator within the San Antonio area, for their hard work and dedication to education. Alamo Toyota's General Manager, Thomas Bunn said it is important to give back to educators any way they can.

"You have a very special teacher here at Las Lomas," said Bunn. "This is just a very small part that we feel we can do to recognize her and all the teachers in San Antonio."
