    The goal of the second grade team is to help students become successful, life-long learners.   Programs such as Four Blocks Reading, Investigations (TERC Math), FOSS kits for Science and our Pyramid Program for Accountability assist us in reaching this goal.   One of the most important steps a family can take in assisting their children to become life-long learners is for the children to become stronger readers.  This can be achieved by listening to your child read aloud for 20 minutes Monday through Thursday nights.

      We are fortunate to have a broad range of technology accessible for our students, including computers in our classrooms, and two completely internet-equipped Dell computer laboratories. Computer programs, combined with hands-on manipulatives, and incorporation of higher order thinking skills will assist our students in becoming successful problem solvers.

      We are looking forward to a productive and successful second grade year as Together Everyone Achieves More!
