My biome project was for a Taiga. A Taiga is very cold, and snowy in the winter that lasts about 6-7 months, and there are a lot of coniferous trees in the Taiga. It has snowy mountains, and frozen lakes and rivers in the winter. The summers is a short, hot, and rainy season. It lasts about 3-4 months.
More Info. About a Taiga
The Average temperature in a Taiga for the winter is -65 degrees Fahrenheit (-54 degrees Celsius), and for the summer the average temperature is -20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 degrees Celsius).
The average precipitation is around 40-65 cm. of rain each year.
1.) The world's oldest trees are found in the Taiga. One of them is 4,600 years old.
2.) Taiga has acidic soil, which prevents many plants from growing there.
3.) Taiga trees are prone to wildfires. The trees have adapted to this by growing thick bark.
4.) Taiga covers 11% of the Earth.
5.) The Taiga is the largest biome in the world.
Location of Taiga
