Student Biographies
Alex Student Manger and Payload Experiment Team Alex has had an interest in science since he was a young boy, especially in the field of aeronautics. He has dreamed of being an aeronautical engineer since the fourth grade. Being accepted into the Krueger School of Applied Technologies (KSAT) has put him a great deal closer to his goal. He hopes that the SLI program will give him more much-needed experience in this field and prepare.
Rocket Design and Construction Aaron has always been interested in space and rockets since he was a little boy and has a dream of becoming an astronaut. He has been in KSAT for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade and has been an honor roll student for many years. In sixth grade he participated in rocketry club, science club, and band. In seventh and eight grade he participated in science and math UIL, NJHS, band, football, basketball, tennis, track, and golf. He is also involved in his church and other extra curricular activities outside of school. ![]() Claire Safety and Payload Expirement Since fifth grade, Claire has wanted to be involved in the rocketry program at KSAT. She was so excited to be chosen for the KSAT program. She has been an NJHS member for two years. She has been an active participant in science club for three years and won a medal in tower building at Science Olympiad. She recently started playing volleyball for Krueger this year.
Payload Expirement Member and Web Design As a small child Travis always wondered what space was like and how rockets worked. Electronics, computers, and technology has always fascinated him. Travis has been working with Mrs. Thomas since 6th grade. He has competed in Science Olympiad three years in a row now and knows what it's like to compete against others, Travis is a straight A student in all of his classes. Travis is honored to be in SLI and had the gumption to do what it takes to succeed.
Debbie Payload Expirement Team Member, Rocket Design, and Construction Debbie has been interested in rockets since the presentation given to her in 5th grade. She has built many rockets since then and has taught others about them. She was a student assistant at Longs Creek Elementary to help make straw rockets with 4th and 5th graders on science day. She has been in Science Olympiad 3 years running and enjoyed every second of it. Winning 3rd in her event, balloon launch glider, she is really happy with what came of all her hard work and effort. She is also in National Junior Honor Society. She enjoys volunteering at animal shelters and retirement homes. She can’t wait to participate in SLI program with everyone that shares the same passion as she does. Debbie has a love of making and flying magnificent rockets and is very honored to be participating on the 2008/2009 SLI team.
Victoria Rocket Design and Construction Victoria has been interested in aerospace since fifth grade. She is very interested in space exploration and would like to become an astronaut one day. . She has attended Science Olympiad for the last three years. Victoria is in National Junior Honor Society and also participates on the school volleyball and softball teams. ![]() Katrina Web Design, PR Specialist, Editor, and Photographer Katrina was born in Anchorage, Alaska. She moved to Texas 2006. Katrina has always loved to write. She had been writing since she was in pre-K. Through the experience at Krueger Middle School, Katrina was able to reach her full writing potential by becoming the Editor of her school’s newspaper. Katrina is involved in the schools band, playing the clarinet for the varsity band. She plays basketball, and softball/baseball. Katrina is involved in her church youth group and other activities outside of school. |
