Message from the Principal of ISA, Kathy Bieser

May 4, 2008
Dear ISA Families, Last weeks' TAKS testing transpired well and we want to thank the students, teachers, and our testing coordinator, Mrs. McDaniel, for that. We also want to thank the ISA Amigos who provided breakfast and snacks for our students during each day of testing. The students were well-fed, confident, and focused as they entered into their testing rooms. After a week of testing, portfolio work, and team-led activities, many of our students celebrated last night at the ISA prom at the Say Sí Art Gallery. I would like to thank Jon Hinojosa, ISA parent, for generously offering the gallery for our prom, ISA math teacher Galen McQuillen, for organizing this year's prom, and the many ISA teachers who chaperoned the event. Although we have completed our TAKS testing for the year, Advanced Placement (AP) exams are just beginning. These tests are the culmination of the AP course and result in an exam score that can be translated into credit at many colleges and universities. All of the AP tests will be proctored at ISA, and students who elected to take the exams have already completed an on-line registration and received a test schedule. Over the next two weeks we will be administering over 400 exams to ISA juniors, seniors, and a few of sophomores. The schedule below lists the AP test schedule for the next two weeks. As the end of the 4th nine-weeks and 2007-2008 school-year approaches, all ISA students have a student portfolio to complete and final exams at the end of May and first week in June. Please encourage your student to continue to work hard these last few weeks and speak with his/her teachers about their current grades and performance if there are questions. Have a great week. Sincerely, Kathy Bieser
