Who Are School Counselors Nationally?

WELCOME to the International School of the Americas on-line Guidance and Counseling Center. We hope that parents, students, faculty, and community members will be able to find information and resources useful to them regarding many issues related to high school students, their careers, and their education.

At ISA we believe that every student has a unique combination of talents and abilities which when discovered, nurtured and tried will provide that student with a sense of accomplishment and personal worth. To assist and encourage each student in discovering his/her own personal strengths is a primary role of every counselor.  ISA counselors are available to assist students in achieving their highest potential both academically and personally.

Encouraging and developing high self-esteem, accepting personal responsibility, discovering optimal education experiences, and maintaining a positive school climate are major goals of our counseling service. ISA students are encouraged to visit the counselor's office regularly for academic planning, social concerns, career and college planning, as well as testing information.

Counseling Office Hours: 8 - 4:30

NEISD AP Advanced Placement Online Registration

Students: In order to take an AP exam, you must register online for the test. There is a link to the NEISD AP registration off the NEISD homepage at www.neisd.net. The link is titled “AP Exam Registration” on the upper right-hand side of the web-page. Or, the following URL address will take you directly to AP registration:

https://portal.neisd.net/apreg/start.asp

Although the actual cost of an AP exam is $86, because of district support, students in an NEISD school will only pay $16 per test. Additionally, if you qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, the fee is lowered to $8 per test. The online registration runs from March 12th, 4PM. The on-line registration will only accept Visa and MasterCard. Students needing to pay cash may bring a Money Order or Cashier’s Check to the ISA counseling office to get registered. We strongly encourage you to register early for your exams because once the deadline passes, we will be unable to add additional students. If you have any questions please see the counselor.
