A State of Texas Exemplary High School for 2008

Who are we?

ISA is a magnet school on the Robert E. Lee High School Campus that attracts students who are curious about the world, who are independent thinkers, and who want to make change happen in their world.  Students have all of the opportunities of the large public high school campus while taking their academic courses in a small, student-centered environment.  Our school is made up of students from all over Northeast Independent School District and the San Antonio area.  Students who attend come from 24 different public and private schools to join ISA.  Once they leave ISA, students attend the most prestigious colleges, academies, and universities across the country.

What is ISA all about?

ISA is a small high school where everyone is known as a person and feels connected to the school, the teachers, and to the other students.  It’s a community that connects students with the world through travel and the study of global ideas.  It’s a place where students create ideas for change, for leadership, and for understanding the world.  It offers an honors curriculum where students, teachers, and parents come together to challenge themselves to learn and grow with the support needed to be successful.  It also offers opportunities for students to participate in community service, to be immersed in the arts, to travel internationally, and to explore careers through a senior internship.
