Model United Nations San Antonio is a non-profit, student run organization that seeks to create a dynamic learning opportunity for students from the San Antonio area, the state of Texas, the United States of America, and Mexico. As a simulation, MUNSA strives to offer a forum in which academic, leadership, and interpersonal skills combine and lead students in discussions on our world's most pressing problems.
Changes from XV to XVI
Due to renovations at the Municipal Auditorium, the conference will be held at the El Tropicano Hotel and opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Villita Assembly Building (click here for more info). MUNSA XVI will also be held on Nov. 30 through Dec. 2, which is about a week earlier than previous years. Like last year, the conference is proud to feature the Organization of American States (OAS), in which debate takes place in Spanish. However, because MUNSA is hosting a reduced number of delegates this year, we have elected to host only twelve committees, as opposed to last year ’s seventeen. Committees represented last year that will not be represented this year are UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNIDO, and WTO.
MUNSA XVI Delegate Dance and CHAMPS Fundraiser
This year the delegate dance will be in conjunction with a CHAMPS fundraiser. Each delegate will be charged $10 to attend the dance. Half of the proceeds will go to El Tropicano for dance beverages and half of the entrance fee will go directly to CHAMPS. We encourage delegate participation and hope to see you all at the dance!
