The magnet schools formally begin recruiting students in February for the following school year, visiting every NEISD elementary campus. At those recruiting events, we provide each student with an admissions packet, which includes the application. We have also provided you with the application forms on-line as .pdf files. Please print out both the application and the 6th grade choice slip. Students are notified on a “rolling basis.” This means that an application is received, evaluated, and a score is determined using standardized test scores and conduct reports. If the score meets the minimum acceptable score, the student will be offered admission to the KSAT program before the application deadline. iMAK uses a lottery admissions process. We look forward to receiving your application.
We additionally conduct a Spring Recruiting Family Night. Many potential magnet school families attend that special occasion, as it provides a good opportunity for putting names and faces together, touring the facilities, launching rockets, viewing software, shaking hands, and asking questions as well as meeting other families from your part of town.
