Huebner PTA won $500 from the HEB Earth Day Contest in the Nonprofit/Classroom group Category!
But that's not all...
HEB was so impressed with the overwhelming support for our school that they decided to award us an additional $4500. Thank you to everyone who took a moment each day to vote.
It is so exciting that we all contributed to this success!
Thank you for supporting your PTA, which allows us to continue to support our school and students. We are looking forward to completing the Bottle Cap Mural and having it on display in the cafeteria as a reminder to take care of our Earth.
Battle of Flowers Holiday
Friday, April 24th, is a school holiday for the Battle of Flowers Parade. Happy Fiesta!
Huebner's 2015 Earth Day Celebration - Sunday, May 3, 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In April, 2012, we joyfully dedicated our Outdoor Classroom and created a garden area for our students and community to use. We affectionately called the day Huebner’s “Plant-Luck”. It’s hard to believe that it has been three years since that inaugural Earth Day project. During that time the Outdoor Classroom and garden area have been enjoyed by many. But, it is now time to show our garden some TLC!
Please join us on Sunday, May 3rd between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., as we will once again be coming together as a community to beautify the Huebner garden. We can’t do this without you…we need your help!
This will be a great opportunity for you and your family to show your Husky support and celebrate Earth Day 2015! It will be a great day of community involvement plus our dad’s group, the Watch D.O.G.S., will be grilling for everyone involved.
We are asking for donations of Texas native plants. The plants can be purchased at local stores that sell Texas native plants and will be fairly inexpensive. Each plant should be no larger than a one gallon size.
Bring your plant(s) to the back of the school on Sunday, May 3rd, and your family can participate in the planting project. Some shovels will be available, however, if you can bring your own, please do so.
After planting your contribution, feel free to enjoy our cookout. We will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs (donated by Bar S Hotdogs), chips, and bottled waters (provided by Rock Hills church). Please fill out the number of family members in the RSVP section of the website. This will help our Watch D.O.G.S. plan for food quantity needs.
Goodwill Collection - Sunday, May 3, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Clean out your garages, attics, and closets, and support the Huebner Elementary PTA! Goodwill will be at Huebner Elementary School on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 10:00am – 4:00pm to collect donations.
For every 26' Goodwill trailer we fill that day, we can earn up to $1,000 for Huebner Elementary PTA!
Do you already have plans that Sunday? Don't worry! You can drop off your donations at Huebner Elementary School between 7:00am-7:30am, the week of April 27-May 1.
