The Campus Improvement Council was directed by
the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to develop individual campus
performance objectives and the measurement tools needed to assess those objectives.
Members selected to serve on the Council are composed of teachers, campus staff,
NEISD
district staff, parents, and community and business representatives. This very committed
group is responsible for assisting the principals with site-based decision making, helping
identify the annual objectives for improving student performance in a variety of areas,
and developing the procedures for implementing those objectives.
Members meet during the year to provide input in the areas of
planning, budgeting, curriculum, staffing patterns, staff development,
and school organization. This past year, CIC concluded its initial organizational meetings with a carefully
framed set of objectives, the primary goal of attaining the Exemplary School
Recognition status for Hidden Forest clearly in sight. It received
the 'Exemplary School' designation in August, 1999, and a special
recognition for math TAAS scores..
A major role that the CIC plays is to help develop &
monitor our Campus Plan which can be viewed from our school's web
site. The Campus Plan provides strategies to improve strategies to
improve instruction for all of our students as we help them "be the
best they can be."
