Ms. Mary Baker
Ms. Baker earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (grades 1-8) from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She began her teaching career in Texas in the Brownsville Independent School District where she taught second, third, and sixth grades. Ms. Baker received her English as a Second Language certification while working in Brownsville.
Ms. Baker has worked in the North East Independent School District for twenty-one years. She taught fourth grade at Windcrest Elementary before teaching middle school aged students in the district. Ms. Baker taught at Nimitz Middle School and Garner Middle School where she was involved in various student related activities while teaching eighth grade reading, sixth grade social studies, and English as a Second Language.
In August of 1997 Ms. Baker received her Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Texas A & M University - Kingsville. Ms. Baker previously was an Assistant Principal at Eisenhower Middle School. She joined the Dr. Bernard Harris Middle School administrative team as an Assistant Principal in July of 2009. Ms. Baker is excited about working with the great students, families, teachers, and community within the Madison High School cluster.
Ms. Baker’s personal interests include traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading and writing. She loves to take car trip “adventures” to destinations in Texas to learn about the many cultural treasures within our great state. Some of the fondest memories she has of growing up in Minnesota include car trips with her family throughout the United States. Ms. Baker has also enjoyed traveling in Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, and Italy. Her greatest passions are meeting and learning new things from people of all ages. Ms. Baker loves the outdoors and being around animals.
