Mrs. Kidwell is a San Antonio native who graduated from John Marshall High School and then went on to the University of Texas at San Antonio.  There she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and also obtained a Texas Teaching Certificate.  Then in 2007, she graduated from Trinity University with a Master of Education in school administration.

Mrs. Kidwell began her career in education at Somerset Junior High school teaching 8th grade reading.  She was an active member of the Somerset Junior High school community for five years, and in addition to classroom instruction, was involved in many extracurricular activities designed to foster student growth and success.  Mrs. Kidwell sponsored the yearbook, the cheerleading program, and academic UIL teams.

Mrs. Kidwell then took a teaching position in NISD teaching 6th-8th grade reading at Northside Alternative Middle School-North.  While there, she created a learning environment that would strive to afford each student the opportunity to develop academically, socially, and morally while building self confidence and encouraging high levels of achievement.

After completing graduate school in 2007, Mrs. Kidwell joined the North East Independent School District as a Literacy Specialist.  Mrs. Kidwell worked with eleven North East middle school campuses, helping to build capacity in reading instruction.  Dr. Bernard A. Mrs. Kidwell has family in San Antonio and Dallas.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, Keith and teenage son, Tyler.  They are a very active family who like to travel, hunt, fish, and appreciate the outdoors together.  Mrs. Kidwell also loves to cook and entertain family and friends.

Mrs. Kidwell is so pleased to be a part of the Harris family, and looks forward to serving the Harris community-helping students achieve to their fullest potential.
