Harris PALS MDA School Challenge

On Saturday, March 28, 2015, Harris Middle School PALs participated in the Whataburger School Challenge for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  The PALs worked hard to collect donations for their team for just over three weeks and were able to raise $1000 to donate to MDA.  Harris PALS joined together early Saturday morning to walk as a team with many other groups and families from the San Antonio community. They were announced the winners of the School Challenge, raising the most money as a team to donate.  The students were so excited to donate such a large amount of money so that children with muscular dystrophy could attend a specialized summer camp free of charge!  The Harris PALs were presented with a $500 check as their prize.  Their sponsor, Mrs. Heather Gafke, could not be more proud of her students and their hard work!

Thank you to all who came out to the Harris Health and Wellness Festival on Friday, March 28th. Many, many students' families and community members enjoyed food, activities, vendor booths, and demonstrations. A special thank you to all police officers, fire fighters, and emergency medical personnel who demonstrated how they keep us safe. We look forward to seeing all of you back next year.
