1. Enter the
orchestra room quietly and in an orderly fashion. |
2. Be in your seat
with all of your materials, ready to learn, when the tardy
bell rings. |
3. Place case beside
the chair. |
4. Sit quietly in
your chair while the teacher is tuning the instruments. The
teacher will come to your chair to tune your
instrument. Try to listen to
the pitches your teacher plays because someday
you will be tuning your
own instrument. |
5. Always have a
pencil in your case (sharpened). |
6. ABSOLUTELY NO
GUM OR FOOD WILL BE TOLERATED IN THE
ORCHESTRA ROOM. |
7. Personal grooming
is a private matter and should not be done during
orchestra rehearsal. Make-up, brushes,
non-orchestra related materials
will be taken up and turned into the main
office if used during class. |
8. Students should
use the restroom between classes. DO NOT ASK TO
LEAVE THE ROOM DURING CLASS. |
9. Talking is not
acceptable during instruction or playing. Remember that
it is very difficult for the director to give
directions with extra talking
taking place. There will be an
appropriate time for questions. |
10.Playing or plucking
during tuning and instructions is inappropriate and
can not be tolerated as it interferes with
teaching and with the learning
of others. Orchestra is an aural activity
and students must be able to
listen in order to play in tune, with a good
sound and in order to make
improvements. |
11. Students must bring all
music to their stand each day. |
12. Take care of the
instrument you use. |
13. You will maintain
respect for yourself, your friends and your director at
all times. |
14. Remember that our goal
is to learn as much as we can about music
and our instruments, enjoying music
for the whole class period. |
15. ORCHESTRA IS A TEAM
EFFORT AND IT REQUIRES EVERYONE
COOPERATING AND LISTENING AT ALL
TIMES TO BE
SUCCESSFUL!! |
