Progress reports are an
effective means of communication with parents. They are a
"report" of how your child is doing at key points between grade
cards. Progress reports allow us to enter personal comments including dates
of projects, exams, and other general information. Please ask your child
for these reports on the day they are issued so you can see how they are
doing. |
If there are low grades, it is a sign that something is
wrong. We ask that you institute a mandatory study time at home each
night. Each teacher puts an agenda up in the room. We encourage
students to keep an assignment notebook where they can record the agenda.
This will allow you, the parent, to see what is being studied. Go through the
student's binder with them and pull out assignments with low grades; have the
child correct the mistakes made by reworking the problems or looking up the
correct answers. Help them review by using their notes to quiz them over
information. If possible, monitor their study at the kitchen table.
Students who are sent to their room to study alone may not make good use of
their time. Students' schoolwork usually improves when they know their
parents are involved and are going to be checking up on them. |
