Biography

Originally from New Jersey, Mrs. Northway moved to Texas in 1983. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in Glassboro, New Jersey. After substituting at various schools in San Antonio ISD, she became certified to teach through the Alternative Certification program at Region 20. In addition, she worked for 10 years as a Special Education teacher at Kirby Middle School in Judson ISD. In 2003, after earning her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Mrs. Northway became an Assistant Principal at Floresville Middle School in Floresville, Texas. After 7 years, the 60 mile round-trip drive became tiresome, so in 2010, she was fortunate to earn the position of Assistant Principal at Nimitz Middle School here with NEISD. Mrs. Northway is excited to continue her administrative career here at Garner Middle School. Overall, this is will be her 21st year as an educator. During her free time, Mrs. Northway and her husband enjoy travelling the United States in their RV and fishing in fresh or salt water.
