Special Education Our two special education programs are A.L.E. (Alternative Learning Environment) and Resource classes. Resource Classes: Students with qualifying conditions attend Resource classes on a pull-out basis according to their I.E.P. (Individualized Education Plan). These students usually attend Resource classes for math, language arts, and/or reading. Children who are emotionally disturbed (E.D.) may or may not be in a self-contained classroom setting. Alternative Learning Environment: Students who attend A.L.E. classes work, according to each one's Individualized Education Plan, on life skills within a functional/academic curriculum. The degree of their needs ranges from moderate to profound. An adapted P.E. specialist, occupational and physical therapists, and a speech/language pathologist are available to provide support services for those students who are eligible.
