NEISD Speech and Debate Shine at State Competition

North East students headed to Forte Worth, Texas this year to compete in the Texas Forensic Association State Meet.    The state’s best speakers, debaters and actors gathered to compete and celebrate the meet’s 50th anniversary.   The competition consists of students that have qualified by earning finalist points throughout the regular season at local and regional meets.  Students competed in the three-day competition starting with preliminary rounds and then advancing through several elimination rounds until six students remained in each event.   Churchill High School ended up as the Regional Champion Team and placed 6th in the Overall State Sweepstakes.
