Reagan Band Grand National FInalists
In November, the Ronald Reagan High School Marching Band competed at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana. The competition came at the end of an incredibly successful season, after qualifying as a finalist at all three Bands of America Regional Championships in Texas and the UIL State Marching Contest. The band achieved the highest State Prelims placement in Reagan history (3rd) and made State Finals for the first time since 2006.
Reagan was one of only 12 bands nationwide to compete at Grand National Finals and one of only 2 from Texas. The competitive field included almost 90 high school bands from across the country. Bands at the contest had the opportunity to perform at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.
This was the fourth appearance by the Reagan Band in Grand National finals, the most recent happening in 2005. The Reagan Band students and directors would like to express an incredible amount of gratitude to the Reagan Band parents, who spend countless hours helping the program run, as well as the Reagan HS Administration for the wonderful support they give to the 360-degree education.
The band is under the direction of Levi Chavis, Dan Morrison, Greg White, Ray Ulibarri and Christy Tench.
