Madison's A Capella Choir Wins ICHSA Semifinal

 

Saturday, Madison Avenue competed in the Varsity Vocals International A Cappella High School Competition regional semi finals held at Mac Arthur High School. The Varsity Vocals International Championship of A Cappella is the only international tournament that showcases the art of student a cappella singing. Other A Cappella Groups involved in the competition were:

 

PFC - Douglas MacArthur High School, San Antonio, TX
Madison Avenue - Madison High School, San Antonio, TX
Here Comes Treble - A&M Consolidated High School, College Station, TX
The Pitches - A&M Consolidated High School, College Station, TX
Mixed Company - Steele & Clemens High Schools, Converse, TX
Zero Hour - Warren High School, San Antonio, TX
Rhapsody - Big Spring High School, Big Spring, TX

 

PFC from Mac Arthur was named first runner up. And in a history making first...Madison Avenue and Mixed Company tied for first place. Both groups are moving forward to the finals competition at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in New York City on April 18th.

 

Madison Avenue is currently working towards reaching their $20,000 fundraising goal to send them to the finals.
