Art Students receive scholarship money at Western Art Auction

The annual Western Art Contest Auction took place Sunday, February 26 at the New Frontier Club located on the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo grounds. Two North East high school students had their top placing art entries auctioned to the highest bidder. Hanna Lee, from Madison High School, received $7,100.00 in scholarship money and Mariah Acevedo, a student at Reagan High School, received $8,000.00 in scholarship money for her artwork at auction. In addition to the scholarships they are invited to apply for a scholarship to the three week Western Art Academy at the prestigious Museum of Western Art at Schreiner University in Kerrville Texas.
