North East Orchestras Perform for Elementary students

The High School Symphony Orchestras will be performing Concerts for the fifth grade students in their clusters. The Orchestra along with the Band and Theatre Arts departments will be presenting the performances.

The Madison Symphony Orchestra will be presenting Camille Saint Saens' Carnival of the Animals for area Madison Cluster Concertelementary students at 9:30am on November 8th. A musical journey through Saint Saens’ depiction of animals and their sometimes funny sounds! Attendees will learn about the Symphony and the composer Camille Saint Saens.

MacArthur Orchestra Presents Carnival of the Animals

On Tuesday, November 12th, the MacArthur Symphony will presenttheir annual concert for fifth graders, featuring Saint Saens "Carnival of the Animals" and the artwork from the fifth graders.A powerpoint show of the artwill be played during the music.This is the thirteenth year of the concert series.This year NEISD fifth graders from Wetmore, Thousand Oaks, Northwood, Serna, Redland Oaks, and Oak Grove Elementaries will attend.

The MacArthur Symphony Orchestra performs under the direction of Dr. Jan Garverick and Andrew Davis. The MacArthur ROTC will present the colors before the performance. Guest artists on piano are professional pianists Nancy Laine and Martha Klein.

Roosevelt HS Auditorium - Thursday, Nov 14

9:45 am Roosevelt Performs

Theodore Rooosevelt's High School Band, Choir, and Orchestra will present their annual Roosevelt ClusterConcert on Thursday, November 14 at 9:45 am. The theme of the presentation is "All That Jazz" and will feature the Roosevelt Choir directed by Lindsey Johnson, the Roosevelt Orchestra directed by Lydia Hurtado-Yanez, and the Roosevelt Rough Rider Marching Band directed by Patrick Finkbeiner. The concert will feature do-wop singing, jazz strings, and 1930's swing music. The Roosevelt Fine Arts performing ensembles present this concert annually to approximately 600 elementary students. It promises to be great fun and a good time will be had by all!

Take an exciting trip around the world with our orchestra as we visit composers from Norway, Italy, Russia, and France.

The concert is for elementary students, to introduce them to the NEISD orchestra program. The general public, however, may attend the performance.

Churchill HS Auditorium - Friday, Nov 22

The Churchill High School Orchestra will host a Children's Concert on Friday, Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m. and Churchill Orchestra Presents Peter & the Wolf for Elementary Students10:45 a.m. in the Lanny Nagelin Theatre. The orchestra will perform Peter and the Wolf, Pirates of the Caribbean and A Tribute to John Williams.


The purpose of this performance is to cultivate musical tastes in children from their first years of school. Peter and the Wolf is a Children's Symphonic Poem with narration.


The concert is for elementary students. The general public may attend the performance and sit in the balcony section of the theatre.

Lee HS Auditorium - Wednesday, Dec 11

Lee Orchestra, Choir and Band will present a Holiday Concert for the elementary students of the Lee cluster to enjoy in a concert on Wednesday, Dec 11. The performance will be in the Lee Auditorium from 10am-11am.

Reagan HS Auditorium - Thursday, Oct 18

The Ronald Reagan Symphony Orchestra will be presenting two concerts on Thursday, October 18th entitled American Music. The program will consist of four pieces of music, each representing different genres of instrumental music. Titles include: Candide Overture- Bernstein, An American in Paris- Gershwin, Saturday Night Waltz- Copland, Stars and Stripes Forever- Sousa. The concert will also include a Piano performance by Canzhi Ye and a harp duet by harpists in the Reagan Orchestra.


The RRSO Young People's Concerts will be performed for elementary school students from the Reagan Cluster and the surrounding area. Lopez and Bush Middle School Band and Orchestra students will also be in attendance. Performances will be in the Reagan Auditorium at 9:30 a.m.and 10:30 a.m.The RRSO is under the direction of Sixto Elizondo IV.
