What is a Family Specialist?

The primary purpose of this position is to help build communication with parents, staff and community in order to assist at risk students who are experiencing barriers to success and to build parent capacity to participate effectively in school activities.

There are Family Specialist at all three levels, Elementary, Middle and High School.  By having Family Specialist at all three levels of education, it allows us an opportunity to serve the family as a whole unit and it enables us to track family progress during their time in NEISD. 

At East Terrell Hills we will offer Parent Academy classes.  Check my web page on a monthly basis to check out the new classes each month.  The monthly calendar will be posted on my website every month and will also be posted on the glass encased bulletin board at the entrance of our school.

What is PARENT ACADEMY?

Parent Academy is a collaborative effort between NEISD and San Antonio College to provide an opportunity for parents to acquire and apply the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the role as their child’s primary teacher. Come and be an integral part of your child’s education and become informed of what is going on in your child’s school.
