Tips for Sharing Information on the Internet
Below you will find some general rules of safety on the Internet. These rules should apply to us as we build our Teacher Pages. Don't get carried away with the "cuteness" of your site and give an Internet predator the opportunity to find you or your children. Safety is our first concern.
Rules for Safety on the Internet
|
1. |
I will not give out personal information such as my home address or telephone number. |
|
2. |
I will tell the Web Page Coordinator or an administrator right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable. |
|
3. |
I will never agree to get together with someone I "meet" online unless I will be sure that it is in a public place and bring someone else along. |
|
4. |
I will never send or post my picture. |
|
5. |
I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do, I will tell the Web Page Coordinator or an administrator right away so that they can contact the district officials. |
|
6. |
I will talk with my students about rules for going online. They should discuss it with their parents. |
|
7. |
I will be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law. |
