FrontPage is a web creation application.  It is software that let's you setup a web page like this one, using tables, images, and web links.  There are three important things you need to remember:

  1. EVERYTHING must be located in your web folder (images, pages, and sounds - everything)

  2. Fonts, backgrounds, and images must be readable

  3. All downloaded information and images must be cited using their web address (URL).

To Get Started:

Step 1 - Open FrontPage

In Windows XP you will see a dialogue column on the right side of the screen.

Step 2 - Under New choose  > Empty Web > Empty Web (It may already be highlighted) > and click on the BROWSE button.

A new dialogue box will appear that allows you to navigate to YOUR NETWORK FOLDER.  (Usually it will be the H: drive and you will have to drop the down arrow on the box near the top of the screen so you can choose the correct location to save your web.)

Step 3 - Now that you have the correct location chosen, click on the CREATE FOLDER Icon

Click on the New Folder icon.

Name your folder and then click OK > Open > OK

At this point you should see your folder appear on the left side of the screen with two computer generated folders called Private and Images. At the very top of the screen, you should see where you are saving the web and the name of your file.

Step 4 - You are now ready to create your four (or more) web pages for your project.  Using the dialogue box on the right, click on New > Blank Page.  Go to File and Save As to name your new page.  Continue creating pages until you have met the requirements of your project.
