Lesson Title:  A Look at Rocks and Minerals

Software Application(s):  Word

Directions:
1. Discuss different properties of the 8 rock pictures. Use the teacher computer to enlarge the screen as you discuss them.

2. Click and drag pictures that appear to be "spotted" and "shiny" to the corresponding directional arrows.

3. Have students come up with other properties that the rocks possess. Type in a property next to the stars in the sorting boxes. Click and drag appropriate pictures to the directional arrows.

4. Print completed project.

Note:  There are several copies of each picture stacked on top of one another. Each property word may or may not have 4 corresponding pictures.
