Lesson Title:  Sensory Image Maps in Writing

Software Application(s):  Inspiration

Directions:
Using a sensory image map when students are planning their writing supports the IDEAS component of Six Traits.

1. Save this template to the student server. For all students to be able to use the template at the same time, you must right-click on the template once it is saved to the student server, select properties from the menu, and put a checkmark in the box next to READ ONLY.

2. Have the students navigate to the template and open it.

3. Have them type their topic in the center.

4. Have them click into the text boxes from each sense and write about their topic.

5. Have them change to outline view and add details to their prewriting.

6. Print out the outline view and use it to complete the composition.
