Lesson Title: Consonant Blends Software Application(s): Kidspiration Directions: (Before doing this activity in the lab, share this activity with your students in the classroom using your multimedia computer which is connected to the TV. ) 1. Save this template to the student server. For all students to be able to use the template at the same time, you must right-click on the template once it is saved to the student server, select properties from the menu, and put a checkmark in the box next to READ ONLY. 2. Have the students navigate to the template and open it. 3. Have the students click on a picture from the symbol palette that fits into the "Sh" or "Ch" category and drag it to the appropriate super grouper. (The students can use the blue arrows to move between symbol categories.) 4. Have students click on the green guy on the menu bar and add their name. 4. Print out the finished product. An extension to this activity would be to have the students move to the outline mode by clicking on the lined tablet icon on the menu bar and add a sentence using each "Sh" or "Ch" word and printing.
