Directions

This lesson lets your students practice relating sounds and spellings for  special letter combinations.

1. Save the Tongue Twister Template (PowerPoint) to the student server.

2. Have students access the template from the student server.

3. Have them type their first name on the title slide after by.

4. Have the students click and drag the red circles on the slide to circle the letter combinations for each tongue twister.

5. Have the students insert a picture from clipart that matches each tongue twister.

6. Students can print their final product to make a mini book. To do this, have the students print the presentation out as a  handout, 6 slides per page.

**You can change the template with tongue twisters of your own to work on specific letter combinations your students need practice with. Or, for a fun Christmas activity, change all the tongue twisters in the template to Christmas Tongue Twisters. For great ideas, go to Rosie's Christmas Tongue Twisters!

For more information on Tongue Twisters with special letter combinations, see page 54 of Month by Month Phonics for First Grade by Cunningham and Hall.
