TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university with specialization in Computer Science or Educational Technology with five to seven years of experience in the fields of technology
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and implements a curriculum according to the following: Assist in development of technology, art, design and survey courses; Allows students to learn the professional requirements in the fields of technology; Utilizes technology in instruction and in application of learning; Promotes the development of creative and problem solving skills in students through use of technology applications, integration of academic courses and experimental learning
Develops and implements lesson plans that support the District's and the programs overall objectives
Uses various forms of technology to strengthen the learning process
Develops and implements lesson to enhance student's design skills
Presents subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, School Board policy and administrative regulations
Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results to plan instructional activities
Works with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives and method according to District requirements
Plans and supervises assignments of teacher assistant(s) and volunteer(s)
Creates classroom environment conductive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students
Assists in selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY: Teacher Salary Schedule PAY GRADE: WORK SCHEDULE: Eleven Months
