TEACHER / CINEMA AND ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF FILM PRODUCTION
HALF-TIME POSITION

NORTH EAST SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
LEE HIGH SCHOOL

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in film production or related field; Master's degree a plus
Professional film-making experience and filmography
Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with secondary teaching field a plus, or admitted to approved Alternative Certification Program
Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as associate producer/instructor for the cinema component of NESA.
Coordinates with Director for Film Production to develop and implement a four year gifted/ talented high school film curriculum that focuses on the history and function of cinema and animation, the impact of film on society, film script composition and the production of animation and digital film
Produces student work within district guidelines for acceptable and appropriate content for high school productions and works with students to produce and annual film festival
Research, coordinate, and facilitate NESA student's entries into nationwide film festivals
Research, coordinate, and facilitate NESA Cinema Department travel (local and out of state) for film shoots and film festivals
Assists in developing recruiting techniques and serves as a member of the recruiting team
Works in partnership with the Director of NESA
Possess working knowledge of digital video cameras, non-linear editing equipment and stop motion animation equipment, computer animation programs, and utilizes technology in instruction and in application learning
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY: Teacher Salary Schedule PAY GRADE: WORK SCHEDULE: Tens Months
