MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university Texas Teacher Certificate with preferred teacher certification in Health or Physical Education State Licensure through the Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers Valid Texas Driver License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Athletic Trainer with coordinating the use of equipment and the operation of the Training Room Works with the Athletic Coordinator in securing a team doctor Assists with establishing a procedure for recruiting and training Student Assistants Renders first aid to injured players such as giving artificial respiration, cleaning and bandaging wound-sand applying heat and cold to promote healing Calls physician for injured persons as required Responsible for wrapping joints on legs and arms as well as large muscle areas with gauze, adhesive tape and etc., for support and protection Responsible for processing insurance papers and maintenance of records relating to injuries and treatment Works with the Athletic Trainer to establish procedures to cover the preparation of athletes for all contests Attendance at contact sport activities or cooperates with other trainers in the area Insures that all coachers understand their role of supervision and handling of athletes that receive injuries Responsible for working district tournaments and other University Interscholastic League (UIL) events organized through the athletic office  Establishes a working relationship with physicians in the community Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
SALARY:	Teacher Salary Schedule Plus Stipend	PAY GRADE:		WORK SCHEDULE:	Ten Months
