BOILER MECHANIC
2nd SHIFT
FACILITY MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT DEPARTMENT

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid Texas Driver License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Observes and tests the operation of heating and mechanical systems to localize malfunctions in automatic controls, converters, piping pumps and related components
Removes burner, burner nozzles, strainer and orifice assemblies; dismantles and locates defects, reassembles and reinstalls components; relines furnaces, piping, pumps and controls
Connects new equipment to existing facilities
Monitors space heat and auxiliary distribution plants on energy control management systems
Controls and monitors equipment for proper heat and steam temperatures and pressures
Installs, modifies, repairs, maintains and troubleshoots gas regulators that are components of heating equipment
Tests systems after installation/repair is made to assure proper functioning
Periodically checks the operation of safety equipment such as flame extinction, automatic re-ignition, low water cutouts, high pressure cutout and purge type combustion safeties
Replaces, installs and pipes new/rebuilt equipment and rebuilt pumps
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

** 2nd shift and periodically will be required to be on call **

HOURLY:
$15.44-$18.60 Plus shift differential .85 cents per hour PAY GRADE: O6 WORK DAYS: 260
