Students can be elected into student council in sixth, seventh, or eighth grade. The students in each grade vote for the candidate that they feel will represent their school the best from their grade. Student Council is a year long activity.

Student Council is designed to promote the school spirit, develop interest in helping out in the community, lead in school activities, and make better relations between the students and the faculty. There are student council meetings every Thursday mornings at 8:00 AM. At the meetings the Council discusses the upcoming events they plan to participate in. Such events are charity functions, fund raising for needy organizations, selling refreshments at football games, and leading pride rallies.

Student Council and National Junior Honors Society participate in many things together. In December both school sponsored organizations have a Holiday Banquet. Also towards the end of the school year, they go to Fiesta Texas
