Dr. Gottardy (bgotta@neisd.net) is the Associate Superintendent of Operations Services. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University, (now Texas State University), in 1984; his master’s degree from Texas A & I University, (now Texas A & M University, Kingsville), in 1989; and his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Texas A & M University in 1996.

Dr. Gottardy began his career in 1985 as a physical education teacher/coach at John H. Wood Middle School in the North East ISD. He spent three years at Wood Middle School before becoming the Head Coach of Southwest Junior High School in the Southwest ISD (SWISD). In 1989, Dr. Gottardy was promoted to Vice Principal at Southwest Junior High School. Two years later, he became the Director of Pupil Services, which included being the Principal of the Alternative School. In 1993, Dr. Gottardy became the Director of Transportation for the SWISD and continued in that role until January 2000 when he became the Executive Director of Transportation for the North East ISD.

In July of 2004, Dr. Gottardy was approved by the Board of Trustees as the Associate Superintendent for Operations Services. The Division of Operations consists of Facility Maintenance & Improvements, School Nutrition Services , Transportation, Safe and Healthy Schools, Construction Management & Engineering and the North East Police Department. He enjoys his visits to the campuses and facilities, especially interacting with the employees, students, and patrons of the North East family.

Dr. Gottardy and his wife, Patsy, have a son , Lance, who is a junior at Blanco High School.
