Memorial Day

Celebrated on the last Monday in May
"For love of country they
accepted death..." ~James A. Garfield
First dedicated to honoring Union soldiers that died in the Civil War, Memorial Day is now observed to honor American men and women that have died in military service to their country. Americans across the country honor Americans who have fallen in military service by visiting cemeteries, memorials, and attending family picnics and gatherings.
