DATE: Jun. 21
TIME: 10:30 a.m.
LOCATION: 21314 Bulverde Road
On Thursday, June 21, 2012, North East ISD held a groundbreaking ceremony and celebration for the newest member of its family of schools—Middle School #14 (21314 Bulverde Road). NEISD Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Brian Gottardy; Board of Trustees Secretary, Sandy Hughey; and North East ISD Construction Management and Engineering Department Executive Director, Garrett Sullivan, led the ceremony. They were joined by Board Of Trustees members Shannon Grona and Brigitte Perkins, NEISD staff, students, and community leaders. Representatives from Joeris General Contractors, Ltd. and Pfluger Associates Architects also took part in the ceremony as well as other members of the Design Team.
In November 2011, the NEISD community came together to pass a bond, which included a new middle school. Middle School #14 will relieve overcrowding in this ever-growing area. Construction on the school began June 2012. This ceremony is an expression of the district’s appreciation to its community for this 14th middle school.
Middle School #14 will be built according to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. This is the only new campus included in the 2011 Bond.
