2011 Bond Project:
Eisenhower Middle School
Classroom Addition
Scope: |
Classroom Addition to replace 7 portable buildings and to include the following: (1) fourteen grade-level classrooms; (2) one resource classroom; (3) collaborative learning center; (4) athletic support areas including: boys' and girls' athletic and P.E. locker room and storage areas, men and women coaches' office areas, weight room, laundry room, lobby, public restrooms, and concession stand; (5) new competition gymnasium; (6) central plant expansion; (7) fire lane extension; (8) parking lot expansion; (9) landscaping, irrigation, drainage, site utilities, and infrastructure improvements to complement the new classroom and athletic facility additions; (10) two tennis courts and an outdoor basketball court; and (11) an outdoor athletic storage and restroom facility. The total facility program equals 55,000 sq. ft. for the new classroom and athletic facility additions. An extensive review of existing campus facility conditions has resulted in two additional staff recommendations: (1) expand the project scope to include renovation of the existing competition gymnasium into a combination of additional cafeteria dining area to remedy a campus shortfall in interior dining space, and an outdoor covered breezeway to provide a convenient connection from the new parking lot area to the main campus facilities; and (2) as a bid alternate, renovate the existing locker room areas into a new campus library and computer lab. The resulting Bond facility program will be revised to include 13,300 sq. ft. in campus renovations. |
