Welcome to our Coker Library Forest! We encourage all students and parents to use our wonderful facility of over 12,000 books for leisure reading and the treasure hunt of knowledge. Students are encouraged to visit the library individually, in groups, or in a class as often as needed to check out books and magazines.
Our integrated library program is an extension of the classroom. Information skills are taught and learned within the context of the classroom curriculum. An open schedule is maintained in which teachers sign their classes up in the library for a unity of study for the amount of time needed to complete the information gathering process. Information skills instruction is given, support of research process, access of all materials needed, and reading guidance are all part of this program.
Our library program is enriched through the Accelerated Reading Program, visiting authors, illustrators, storytellers, and special guests, reading incentive programs, Reader's Theater, discovery centers, computer research centers, and special programs created by the Coker students.
