Let’s build a Coker Cub Closet!
We’re looking for the following to help stock a closet for students in need.
Please ensure all items are either new or gently used.
Any excess items will be donated to a local shelter.
We’re collecting items through May 5th. Place them in the collection boxes located in each grade level hallway.
Thanks for your support!

|2016 Trinity Prize of Excellence Teacher|
Mrs. Victoria Lane
This is Mrs. Lane's second year at Coker Elementary.
Her colleagues honored her with this award because
of her excellent work with her students and especially
for writing and receiving a grant that allowed dual
language students to have access to much needed
model print. Mrs Lane states, "No matter where or what
background children come from, they are equally
important and I feel should receive a positive experience
in education." Coker staff and students are grateful
Mrs. Lane is a part of our community.

The Coker ES Student Council sponsored food drive generated 2,035 pounds of food, surpassing our 1300 pound goal by far! This donation will provide 3,180 meals.
This donation goes a long way serving 58,000 individuals every week in 16 counties in Southwest Texas.
Thank you so much for your continued support in fighting hunger and feeding hope!

Mr. Turiff and Mrs. Jarvis and Coker 3rd graders performed on Thursday at the PTA meeting.
Mr. and Mrs. Benson attended Coker's 52nd annual Coker Fair. When asked what brought them out, Mrs. Benson replied, "We still live in our home that we lived in when Cameron attended Coker beginning in 1996. We've seen all the construction happening here over the last few years and wanted to come see how things turned out." Their son, Cameron, is currently an architect major at The University of Texas. He's currently in Copenhagen for a study abroad program. The Bensons bought tickets for getting food and drinks. The proceeds from the Coker Fair are used to fund our PTA's student programs.

Mrs. King says, "At lunch today, I was surprised to see our very own Karmen serving behind the counter.
