I feel very blessed and honored to be the very FIRST librarian at Cibolo Green Elementary! I have been the librarian at Fox Run Elementary for the past 8 years. I was a classroom teacher for 11 years (a majority of those years teaching 3rd grade). I love to read and enjoy teaching, so what better way to combine these two interests than to become a school librarian? So, off I went to earn my Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Texas at Austin. My Bachelor’s Degree is in Elementary Education which I earned at Purdue University.

I grew up in a farming community near the small town of Hartsville, Indiana (which is between the cities of Greensburg and Columbus). My mom, Rosanna, still lives on our small family farm and is currently raising a herd of 3 cats. I have 3 sisters: 2 older and one younger. I also have 3 handsome and intelligent nephews that are ages 23, 16 and 3. The 16 year old, Nick, is going to be getting his driver’s license soon. But don’t worry; he won’t be driving in San Antonio. Nate is 23 and will be graduating from college in May. Noah is a very active 3 year old who likes Thomas the Train Engine. We actually got to take a ride on a real Thomas the Train Engine this past summer. My one and only niece, Emma, is 10. She is a hoola hoop queen! She can spin up to 6 of them at once. I like to spoil her with trips to the salon for pedicures when I go to visit my family in Indiana.

I can’t wait to meet all of my new Cibolo Green family! I know we are going to share lots of fabulous books and have many fun and exciting learning adventures together!!
