Short PUTTS
Level

proceed to Level 2.
Level
2 – Place 6 balls on the green 3 feet from the hole in a circle around the
hole. How many out of the 6 did you
make? Once you have made all 6, without
missing, proceed to Level 3.
Level
3 – Repeat Level 2 and drill 6 feet from the hole. How many out of the 6 did you make? Upon completion of this challenge, proceed to Level 4.
Level
4 – Set tees 2 feet, 3 feet, 4 feet, 5 feet, and 6 feet from the hole. You will putt 2 balls from each
distance. How many out of the 10 did
you make? Once you have made all ten
balls without missing, proceed to the final level, Level 5.
Level
5 – Place 6 balls on the green, 10 feet from the hole in a circle around the
hole. How many out of 6 did you
make? Upon completion of all Levels you
have mastered the “Short Putt.”
Approach PUTTS
Level
1 – From a distance of 20 feet, putt 6 balls toward a hole. How many of the 6 balls stopped within 2
feet of the hole? Once you have made all 6 balls in a row stop within the
2-foot margin proceed to Level 2.
Level
2 – From a distance of 30 feet, repeat Level 1, drill until you have been able
to stop all 6 balls within 3 feet from the hole. Upon completion of this level, proceed to Level 3.
Level
3 – Place a marker at 20 feet and 30 feet from the hole. Putt 3 balls at each distance. At 20 feet you must have the ball stop
within 2 feet of the hole. At 30 feet
the ball must stop no more than 3 feet from the hole. How many of the 6 balls were you successful with on the first
attempt? When you can putt all 6 balls,
without missing, inside the proper range, proceed to Level 4.
Level
4 – Place a marker at 20 feet, 25 feet, 30 feet and 35 feet from the hole. Putt
2 balls at each distance. At 20 and 25
feet, you must have the ball stop no more than 2 feet from the hole, and at 30
and 35 feet the ball must stop no more than 3 feet from the hole. When you can putt all 8 balls, without
missing, inside the proper range, proceed to Level 5.
Level
5 – Repeat Level 4 putting 3 balls at each distance and having all 8 balls stop
within 2 feet of the hole. Upon
completion of all 5 levels, you will be the master of the “Approach Putt.”
CHIPPING
Level
1 – From 3 feet off the green, chip 6 balls to a hole at least 30 feet on the
green. Your target would be a 3-foot
circle around the hole. How many out of
the 6 chips stayed inside the circle?
When you can get 6 chips in a row to stop inside the circle, go to Level
2.
Level
2 – Repeat Level 1 but this time you must start at least 6 feet off the
green. When you can get 6 chips in a
row to stop inside the circle, go to Level 3.
Level
3 – From 3 to 6 feet off the green select 3 pin placements of different
lengths. Your objective is to hit 2
chips to each hole and have each ball stop within a 3-foot circle. When you can get 6 chips in a row to stop
inside the circle, go to Level 4.
Level
4 – Repeat Level 2 but this time you must start at least 10 feet off the green
and select a hole that is at least 40 feet from the edge of the green. How many did you get inside the 3-foot
circle? Work on this until you can get
all 6 chips to stop inside the circle, then proceed to Level 5.
Level
5 – First, select 2 pin placements of various distances. You will chip 2 balls from 3 feet, 2 from 6
feet, and 2 from 10 feet off the green, one to each of the holes you
selected. You must have all 6 chips
stop inside the 3-foot circle to complete Level 5 and become a “Master
CHIPPER.”
PITCHING
Level
1 - From 10 feet off the green, select a pin placement that is 20 feet or under
from the edge of the green. Place your
bag between where you are hitting and the edge of the green. (This will force you to get the ball in the
air.) Pitch 6 balls to your target
pin. How many stopped no more than 6
feet from the pin? To advance to Level
2, you must get all 6 balls, in a row, to stop inside the 6-foot circle.
Level
2 – From 20 feet off the green, select a pin that is no more than 30 feet off
the edge of the green and repeat Level 1.
Have all 6 balls stop inside the 6-foot circle again and advance to
Level 3.
Level
3 – Select a spot where you will have to fly the ball over a trap. Select a pin placement that is no more than
twice the length of the pitch over the trap and proceed as in Level’s 1 and
2. Accomplish this task and you can
move on to Level 4.
Level
4 – From a distance of 20 yards from the green, select a target of any distance
from the edge of the green, and attempt to hit 6 shots inside the 6-foot
circle. All shots must land on the
green in the air to count. Level 4 is
tough and you have to work hard so you can go on the Level 5.
Level
5 – From at least 20 yards out, select 3 pin placements on the green and hit 2
balls to each pin. Get all 6 balls to
stop inside of 6 feet and you can become “Pitch Master.”
Accomplish all these
short-game skills, PUTTING, CHIPPING, and PITCHING, and you will be a real
CHAMPION!
