Changes to the Castle Hills Elementary Standing Rules

The following are proposed changes to the Castle Hills Elementary Standing Rules: 

Sections 3 now reads:  The president and principal may be sent to the district /state conference. 

The change would read:  The president and/or selected delegate(s) and the principal may be sent to the district/state conference. 

Section 9 now reads:  The school gift committee shall consist of 7 members. 

The change would read:  The school gift committee shall consist of 5 members. 

Section 10 would be deleted.  There is no need for a book fair committee since we donate a sum of $1,200.00 to the library.

Section 14 now reads:  If funds are available the PTA shall budget for safety patrol trophies. 

The change would read:  If funds are available the PTA shall budget for safety patrol caps. 

The following are proposed additions to the Castle Hills Elementary Standing Rules: 

Section 18: The nominating committee shall be appointed at the September or October Executive Board meeting following proper guidelines listed in the bylaws.  The chairman or another delegate from this committee should attend the district training meeting, usually held in November. 

Section 19:  The duties of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice President shall be proposed by the officers upon election.  They will be presented and voted upon at the next executive board meeting. 

The following is a proposed change to the Castle Hills Elementary Bylaws

Section 2a now reads: The officers of this organization shall consist of a president, one vice president, a secretary, a treasurer, a historian and a parliamentarian. 

The change would read: The officers of this organization shall consist of a president, up to three vice presidents, a secretary, a treasurer, a historian and a parliamentarian. 

The following are proposed additions to the Castle Hills Elementary Bylaws 

The 2nd Vice President shall

  1. be ways and means
  2. preside in the absence of the president; and
  3. perform other duties as assigned by the president or association

 The 3rd Vice President shall

  1. be parent volunteer
  2. preside in the absence of the president; and
  3. perform other duties as assigned by the president or association
